The Visions Unit was conceived and founded by the late Professor Seymour Fox.  The unit has worked with various staffs and associates over the last two decades. 

 

The unit was directed by Dr. Daniel Marom and staffed by Yael Bar Lev, Avi Katzman and Rachela Levanon.

Associates included Professor Chaviva Pedaya and Dr. Gadi Ben Ezer. Technical writing assistance for the unit has been provided by Avinoam Na'eh and Avreimi Rot.

Past staff for the unit in North America included: Dr. Erin Henriksen, Professor Barry Holtz, Dr. Jennifer Lewis, Professor Daniel Pekarsky and Rabbi Jeff Saks.  Past staff for Israel included: Yaffa Benaya, Dana Cidor, Ayelet Gershuni, Yohai Ofran, Chava Sagiv, Shiri Swissa, Sima Yaniv and Daphna Yizrael.     


Past associates of the VU included: Rabbi Jack Bieler, Professor Menachem Brinker, Dr. Gail Dorph, Professor Michael Fishbane, Professor Moshe Greenberg, Dr. Bethamie Horowitz, Professor Michael Meyer, Professor Michael Rosenak, Professor Isadore Twersky, Professor Sam Wineburg and Dr. Zeev Mankowitz.  A special and ongoing consultative role was played by Professor Israel Scheffler. 

 

VU’s Institutional associates included Harvard University’s The Philosophy of Education Research Center, Hamidrasha Center for Jewish Renewal, Shevach-Moffet High School in south Tel Aviv, Mimizrach Shemesh/Morasha and the Mandel Foundation’s Teacher Educators Institute.
