Adi Levy-Vered is a doctoral student in the department of education at Tel Aviv University. She is writing her doctoral dissertation on literacy in evaluation, knowledge, perceptions, and self-efficacy of students of education in the field of measurement and evaluation of school students. She has served as an instructor, research and teaching assistant, and methodological advisor for students in the School of Education. She is on the staff of the Research and Evaluation Unit at Beit Berl College. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has coached girls for many years in floor gymnastics and acrobatics at the Snunit School for Gymnastics (she is a graduate of the Wingate Institute). She holds an MA (summa cum laude) in educational research, measurement, and evaluation methods and a B.Sc. (double major) in statistics and operations research and in the developmental aspects of education.
Dana Vedder-Weiss is a doctoral student in the Department of Science Teaching at the Weizmann Institute of Science. She is writing her doctoral dissertation on the influence of environmental factors on students' motivation for learning science in and out of school. Previously, Dana was involved in the development of curricula and learning materials in the curriculum department at the Ministry of Education. In recent years she has served as an educator and a science teacher at the "Shita" Open School in Rehovot. Dana holds both MA and BA degrees in plant sciences from the Hebrew University. Her interests include effective aspects of learning, school cultures and alternative educational systems.
Ran Peleg is a doctoral student in the department of education in technology and science at the Technion. He is writing his doctoral dissertation on the role of science-based plays in the teaching of science in elementary schools. Peleg has produced and acted in science-based presentations such as “Atom Surprise” a play about matter that has been approved by the national Sal Tarbut program, and “Robot and I,” a play about robotics that has been put on by Madatech–the National Science, Technology, and Space Museum. As part of the S-TEAM (Science-Teacher Education Advanced Methods) project, Peleg teaches in-service courses for science teachers about the use of drama in science classes. Peleg holds an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in chemical engineering from Cambridge University in England. He was a member of the Young Kibbutz Dance Company, is a graduate of acting and physical theater workshops of the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio and the Haguf Theatre, and has studied pantomime with Ruti Tamir.
