Three new faculty members recently joined the Mandel Leadership Institute. All of them are leading academics who are involved on a daily basis in matters related to education, identity and social change; Dr. Ohad David, Dr. Iris Tabak and Prof. Anat Zohar.
Dr. Eli Gottlieb, Director of MLI and Vice-President of the Mandel Foundation-Israel, wishes them good luck in their new positions.
Dr. Anat Zohar is an associate professor at the School of Education of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 2006-2009 she served as the Chairperson of the Pedagogical Secretariat at the Ministry of Education. Her areas of academic expertise include science education, the development of students’ thinking, metacognition, teachers’ professional development, education for the gifted, bridging gaps in educational policy, and means for implementing educational projects. Dr. Iris Tabak is a senior lecturer in the Department of Education at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, an associate editor of the Journal of the Learning Sciences, and is past-president of the International Society of the Learning Sciences (ISLS). She will work with Prof. Mordecai Nisan as a faculty member of the Mandel Scholars in Education Program. She can be reached by email at irista@mli.org.il
Dr. Ohad David holds a doctorate from the School of Education at Tel Aviv University. He specializes in the study of psychosocial processes in the formation of national identity and in the study of Jewish identity during the Zionist era. For several years Ohad has served as a facilitator in the "Ma’arag - excellence in Jewish, Zionist and civic education" program, founded by the Avi Chai Foundation in conjunction with the Melton Center for Jewish Education at Hebrew University.
