Mohana Fares
Graduate of Cohort 10, Mandel School for Educational Leadership
Northern District Inspector for the Druze and Circassian Sector in the Ministry of Education
Mohana Fares has a BA degree in Mathematics and an MA degree in Educational Administration from Haifa University.
In 1993 he founded a community elementary school in his home village of Hurfeish. In 1997, as principal of this school he received the Education Prize awarded by the President of Israel. He and the entire school also won the General Tamari Prize for Excellence in Education.
Since graduating from the tenth cohort of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership Mr. Fares has worked in the Ministry of Education, where he began as a member of the Shoshani Report implementation team. Later, he was in charge of teaching hours and teachers’ salaries in the Ministry’s Economics and Budgets Administration. Recently he was appointed as Northern District Inspector for the Druze and Circassian Sector in the Ministry. In this capacity he is responsible for the entire Druze and Circassian educational system in the district, from preschool through high school. He also serves as head of a higher education forum, in collaboration with the heads of local authorities, the Israel Joint Distribution Committee, and other bodies that operate in the Druze and Circassian sectors.
